About Me

Hey everyone!

My name is Samantha Keefner. I just started my fourth year teaching, all of that in Bainville! I can't even begin to tell you how much I love teaching. I mean I'd have to love it to spend so much time at school right?

I have been married for two years to my husband Michael. If you have older children in school, you'd remember him as the music teacher for two years.

I am very close with my family. My mother, sister, and I are practically inseparable when we are together. We get together at least once a year for the holiday, but we able to do some family bonding this summer in Glacier as a sort of therapy for us all (my grandmother having passed in May). Losing someone so special really makes you want to spend as much time with your family as you can! I spend the most time with my mom as she can come and visit much more often. I'm pretty blessed.
I have just started working on my masters degree in Reading Instruction and am really looking forward to what it can do for my instruction in this area. I am really excited because reading is my favorite!
When I'm not teaching first graders, prepping for first graders, lesson planning for first....OKAY, when I'm not doing my incredibly rewarding job, I like to relax at home with a good book, crochet, or craft. I have recently gotten back into photography as a hobby and am really excited to use this blog and my classroom as a way to showcase that.

Here are the ten things you may or may not be interesting in hearing about me.

1. I'm a diabetic, but I have a big ol' sweet tooth.
2. I really do love children and my day is better just being around them. They say such rewarding and usually amusing things.
3. I love, love, LOVE horror movies!
4. I love the fall. So many reasons!
5. Halloween is my favorite holiday.
6. I am goofy. When I'm comfortable around someone, I sing, dance, make jokes, and generally act like a fool.
7. I'm a dog person, but cats are good too.
8. I cry easily at things. Seriously, an emotional commercial can be on and make me tear up.
9. I have a huge heart and am usually doing what I can for other people.
10. I just recently had to get glasses. Still weird for me, but hey I went 25 and a half years without so I guess it would be right?
